Dual NIC Redundancy

The T-7704 features two independent Ethernet ports. When both are connected to separate network switches, the decoder automatically fails over to the secondary port if the primary network path fails. Switchover time is <0.5 seconds with no audio dropout. Ideal for emergency systems, hospitals, and transportation hubs requiring continuous operation.

Product Overview – T-7704

The T-7704 is a professional 4-channel IP network decoder designed for applications requiring multiple independent audio streams. Unlike single-channel decoders or zone matrix units, the T-7704 provides four completely separate decoding engines, each capable of receiving different network streams simultaneously and outputting via dedicated LINE outputs.

True Channel Independence: Each of the four channels operates as a standalone decoder. Channel 1 can play background music from a USB stream, Channel 2 can receive live paging from a T-7702A microphone, Channel 3 can play emergency messages, and Channel 4 can output scheduled bell tones – all simultaneously without interaction.

Per-Channel Power Control: Each audio channel has a corresponding rear-panel switched AC outlet. This allows individual amplifiers to be powered on only when their specific channel is active, saving significant energy in multi-zone installations. Outlets are rated for 5A total combined load.

Network Redundancy: Dual Ethernet ports with automatic failover ensure uninterrupted operation even in the event of a network switch failure. This makes the T-7704 particularly suitable for life safety and mission-critical communication systems.

4 Independent Channels

Four separate audio streams simultaneously. Each channel has independent volume, EQ, and source routing. Zero crosstalk.

4x Switched Outlets

One AC outlet per channel. Automatically powers connected amplifiers only when that channel is active. Energy saving.

Dual NIC Failover

Two Ethernet ports with automatic redundancy. Connect to separate switches for network-path fault tolerance.

3-Wire Alarm Relay

Form C relay contact (COM/NC/NO) for external alarm signaling. Trigger on any channel activity or fault condition.

Typical Applications
  • Multi-zone restaurants/bars: Different music in bar, dining room, patio, and lounge
  • Corporate AV: Conference rooms with independent audio feeds
  • Healthcare: Separate paging channels for clinical, administrative, and public areas
  • Transportation: Redundant network paths for critical announcement zones
  • Education: Simultaneous language channels or grade-level announcements

Dual NIC Redundancy – How It Works

The T-7704 continuously monitors both Ethernet ports. Under normal operation, Port 1 is active and Port 2 is in standby. If link loss is detected on Port 1, or if configurable ping monitoring to the gateway fails, the decoder switches to Port 2 within 500ms. Audio streams continue without interruption. Both ports can be on the same or different subnets/VLANs.

IP Decoder Family Comparison
Model Outputs Power Control Network Redundancy Special Features Best For
T-7701 1x LINE out 2x AC outlets (5A) No USB, IR, 3-wire volume Single zone, analog amp integration
T-7701Z 8x 100V zones 1x AC outlet (2000W) No Fire linkage, zone matrix Multi-zone paging, evacuation
T-7704 4x LINE out 4x AC outlets Yes - Dual NIC Per-channel DSP, relay Multi-source, mission-critical
Power Outlet Loading

The four AC outlets share a total maximum load of 5A (resistive). Do not exceed 5A combined. For high-power amplifiers, use the T-7704 outlets to trigger external contactors or power sequencers. Each outlet is rated for individual loads up to 5A but total combined load must not exceed 5A.

Redundant Network Design

To achieve full network path redundancy, connect Port 1 to Switch A and Port 2 to Switch B. Ensure both switches have independent uplinks to the server. The T-7704 will automatically fail over if either switch or any cabling path fails. Tested and verified for <0.5s switchover.
