Audio-Triggered Acquisition

The T-7770 can be configured to start streaming only when audio is detected on the inputs. This saves network bandwidth and storage, and is ideal for applications like local paging where audio is intermittent. Adjustable threshold and hold time.

Product Overview – T-7770

The T-7770 is an IP network audio collecting terminal that bridges analog audio sources to your T-7700 IP audio system. It converts line-level audio from microphones, media players, mixers, or emergency systems into network streams for distribution to speakers, decoders, and amplifiers throughout the facility.

Bring Local Sources onto the Network: Many facilities have existing analog audio sources – local paging microphones, background music players, emergency notification systems. The T-7770 connects these to your IP network, making them available anywhere.

5-Zone Trigger Inputs: The five dry contact trigger inputs allow external devices (fire alarm panels, push buttons, sensors) to initiate audio collection and specify which zones receive the audio. For example, a fire alarm contact can trigger an emergency message to be streamed to specific zones.

Audio-Triggered Acquisition: To save bandwidth and automate operation, the T-7770 can be set to begin streaming only when audio is detected on the inputs. Perfect for local paging where audio is intermittent.

Rugged Aluminum Construction: The aluminum alloy shell provides durability and RF shielding, ensuring clean audio transmission even in electrically noisy environments.

Simple Integration: Power via PoE or DC24V. Configured through T-7700RP software. No local programming required.

2x RCA Inputs

Connect line-level sources: microphones, media players, mixers, emergency systems.

5-Zone Trigger

Dry contact inputs select destination zones. Ideal for fire alarm integration.

Audio-Triggered

Stream only when audio is present – saves bandwidth, perfect for paging.

Aluminum Alloy

Rugged, RF-shielded enclosure for clean audio in demanding environments.

Typical Applications
  • Local Paging: Connect a local microphone for announcements to specific zones
  • Fire Alarm Integration: Trigger emergency messages from fire panel contacts
  • Background Music: Stream local media players to the network
  • Emergency Systems: Integrate legacy emergency notification systems
  • Conference Rooms: Capture local microphone audio for remote participants

Connections & I/O
  • Audio inputs: 2x RCA (L/R)
  • Trigger inputs: 5-pin terminal block
  • Ethernet: RJ45, 10/100, PoE
  • DC input: 24V DC (for non-PoE)
  • Status LEDs: Power, network, audio active, trigger
Fire Alarm Integration Example

Connect fire alarm panel dry contacts to T-7770 trigger inputs. Program each trigger to stream a specific emergency message to designated zones. When alarm activates, the T-7770 automatically streams the message, overriding all other audio. The aluminum enclosure ensures reliable operation even in harsh environments.

System Compatibility – T-7770

Typical System Diagram

Analog Source → T-7770 → Network Switch → T-7700 Server → Zone Amplifiers/Speakers

Example: Fire alarm panel contact triggers T-7770 to stream emergency message to all zones. Message plays through T-7700B amplifiers and T-7782 outdoor speakers.

Audio-Triggered Setup

For paging applications, configure audio-triggered mode with appropriate threshold. Test with typical speech levels. Adjust hold time to prevent clipping of words. Pre-roll ensures no lost audio at the beginning of announcements.

Zone Trigger Programming

Using T-7700RP software, assign each trigger input to specific zones or groups. Triggers can start, stop, or toggle streaming. Multiple triggers can be combined for complex logic. For fire alarm, use highest priority to override all other audio.

Typical Installation – Fire Alarm Integration

T-7770 connected to fire alarm panel and network

Fire panel provides dry contact closure on alarm. T-7770 detects trigger and begins streaming pre-recorded emergency message to all zones via T-7700 system. Message continues until alarm resets. Aluminum enclosure ensures reliability in utility rooms.
